Blog #9 How to have a relaxing, stress-free holiday season.

Blog #9     How to have a relaxing, stress-free holiday season.

I am dedicating this post to all of my friends and family who are beginning to stress out over the holidays.  This time of year can be so crazy-busy.  Utter chaos!  So how do we avoid the stress and just enjoy the season?

I don’t know.  I really don’t.  I was hoping that as I began typing, some great ideas would come to me.  But it’s been about an hour, and nothing.  There are, of course, the obvious solutions:  a massage at a spa (like that is ever going to happen), meditation (that only gives me some quiet time to generate new lists of things to do in my head), quality family time (this only happens in the car as we chauffeur our kids from one activity to the next).

Every year I vow to spend more time with my closest friends over the holidays, but it gets harder to do that every year.  Weekends quickly fill up with holiday work parties, the December birthday parties (seriously, parents, what were you thinking 9 months ago?!), and shopping.  Decorating gets done in November so that is not a source of stress.  I guess that could be some advice:  Take care of all of the decorating in November.  That is one less thing to worry about in December.

So the real way to relax?  You guessed it.   A quiet evening with the family: A glass of white wine in the evening, sitting by the fire, watching spongebob, playing ‘words with friends’ on the iphone, giant, mega, fat live Christmas tree in the corner, and just enjoying every minute!

Happy Holidays!
